The construction of a new 'Sky Pier' and the refurbishment of a cocktail bar could be poised to create new local jobs in Skegness, Lincolnshire.
According to the Skegness Standard, developers TK and Taj Bola are hoping to build an 11-storey pier boasting a range of leisure attractions, including nightclubs and a cinema, alongside restaurants and a cyber cafe.
The pair are also considering launching a boutique hotel located on the top floors of the pier.
Taj Bola told the newspaper: "The essence of a pier is to have many things all under one roof, so we thought why not take that idea and build upwards?"
The Bolas also revealed that they had purchased local cocktail bar LA Cafe, located near Skegness Clock Tower, with Mr Bola commenting: "This will undergo a massive facelift and redevelopment making the structure unrecognisable."
News of the development could give a significant boost to those interested in hospitality jobs in the seaside town following the devastating fire which damaged the Grand Parade in August last year.
