A new selection of local jobs could be on the horizon for Norfolk residents as plans are put in place for a new million-pound bar and restaurant development.

Lynn News reports that around 35 hospitality vacancies are expected to open up as a result of the Barracuda Group's proposals for what used to be a post office in the town.

According to the paper, the firm is hoping to boost its current portfolio of bars and restaurants across the country, while also setting up its first establishment in Norfolk.

In a statement, the agents in charge of the company's planning application suggested that the development would encourage investment in the town from other outlets offering hospitality recruitment opportunities.

"The applicants are a national leisure operator and this proposal will assist in increasing the leisure offer within the town centre and the evening economy," it read.

It continued: "The investment that they will provide will result in increased confidence in Lynn and will attract other national retailers and leisure operators to the town centre."

Britain's Barracuda pubs are popular country-wide among job-seekers and leisure fans alike, gaining favour for both their after-work drink suitability and family-friendliness.
