The pub manager of The Barley Mow, in Portsmouth, was last week presented with the award for Britain's Abbot Ale Cask Pub of the Year for 2008.
Exceptional achievement in customer service, product knowledge and cellar management were particularly praised by the award presenters, Greene King Brewing Company.
Pub manager Judith Burr threw a party for her staff and regulars last week, after her pub was selected out of hundreds of other entries in March as "the best" in the UK, according to the Publican, who organised the award alongside Abbot Ale.
"We're thrilled to present Judith and The Barley Mow with their much deserved award," Greg Williams, sales director of Greene King, told the Publican.
Giving customers freedom to choose from six ales at any one time, The Barley Mow's staff were recognised for their knowledge of cask ales and efficient service.
"We have many loyal customers that return time and time again because of our cask ale, so this award really means a great deal," pub manager Judith remarked to the Portsmouth News in March.
