Neil Morrissey – of 'Men Behaving Badly' fame – and TV chef Richard Fox have opened Ye Olde Bunch Bowl pub in Martun-cum-Grafton, North Yorkshire.

Ye Olde Bunch Bowl will feature a bespoke beer created especially for the pub, named Morrissey Fox Blonde Ale, which will be produced in a brewhouse behind the pub, according to the Publican.

Supporting campaigning body Beautiful Beer has provided staff shirts and branded glasses.

Speaking to the newspaper, Neil Morrissey said: "Pubs are very important, they should be at the heart of communities … our first priority is to restore the pub's place at the centre of village life."

The launch comes after a refurbishment filmed by Channel 4, which is set to be televised under the name "Perfect Pint", due for release by the end of the year.

For anyone looking to be a pub manager, this move by the two celebrities is optimistic during a period which has seen closures of pubs across the country, for various reasons, including a recent rise in tax duty, rising food and drink prices and the smoking ban.
