Employees at the True Lovers Knot pub in Blandford, Dorset, which is dedicated to catering for patrons with sight and hearing difficulties, have excelled in the customer service they provide, a source has suggested.
Their pub has become the first independent freehouse to be shortlisted for a chance of winning the Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals (SOCAP) Award for Innovation in Customer Services, according to the Publican.
Winners of the award, which is sponsored by City and Guilds, will be announced at a formal ceremony on September 23rd this year.
Anthony Marshall, the pub manager, told the publication: "We were bowled over when we heard. I think we can out-innovate anyone. We like to think we can cater for everyone."
Previous winners of the SOCAP award include specific branches of Avis Rent A Car, Royal Bank of Scotland and Appointments Project Team National Blood Service, showing the broad range of public-facing industries capable of achieving the accolade.
