Organisers are seeking "people with enthusiasm" to take part in the Great British Beer Festival (GBBF), renowned as the biggest of its kind in the UK.

The GBBF will be taking place at London's Earl's Court Exhibition Centre between August 5th and 9th this year, but according to the festival coordinators Campaign for Real Ale (Camra), help is needed prior to and following the event.

Over 500 separate alcoholic beverages will be on offer at the five-day occasion, ranging from wheat beers, stouts, golden ales and bitters to ciders, perries and international beers.

Camra's estimates for last summer's event showed attendance from around 5,000 trade visitors, suggesting a valuable opportunity for pub managers also.

Louise Ashworth, head of marketing at the organisation, told the Publican: "Licensees attending the festival will be inspired to put on a greater range and variety of real ales at their own pubs once they realise how many excellent ales there are around the UK."

Bar volunteers are encouraged to sign up because it's "great experience" – with Camra claiming many people come back year-on-year – as well as offering a wide social appeal, with the opportunity to meet "literally thousands" of people and take part in staff parties.
