The acclaimed stout manufacturer Guinness plans to build a new brewery at a town in Kildare, a place where some of its creators' descendants originated from, it has been reported.

Named The Arthur Guinness Brewery, it will take up over 70 acres - representing the biggest site for owner Diageo, the world's largest liquor company - and create local jobs for beer-makers, according to the Irish Independent.

The move is being touted by the newspaper as a "major boost" for nearby town Leixlip, from which many of the staff may be sourced.

Its brewing capacity, with its main product being primarily Guinness, is expected to be five million hectolitres and it will generate stout, ales and lagers for export and domestic distribution.

Guinness describes people who work in its operations as "special, inventive, entrepreneurial [and] perfectionist" and invites jobseekers interested in it to "release your potential", according to its official website.
