Around 20 hospitality jobs are set to be created by the opening of a Starbucks coffee house for the village of Dalkey in County Dublin, it has been reported.

The Castle Street outlet is due for launch at the end of September.

Local businesses told the Herald.ie they do not feel any custom will be taken away from them by the move.

A Starbucks spokesman told Dublin People earlier in the year that the company is looking forward to being part of the community and making a "positive contribution" to the local area through new employment and the new facilities it will provide.

There is speculation from residents whether the small heritage village is an appropriate place for a multi-national company but time will tell, according to the publication.

Starbucks places emphasis on providing a strong workplace environment for its employees and opportunities for progression, career development and promotion.

Their mission statement, according to the firm's website, is "to provide a great work environment and treat each other with respect and dignity".
