Derby pub names ale after neighbouring falcons

A Derby pub manager has taken the unusual step of naming a new beer after the famous residents of the neighbouring city cathedral.
Thisisderbyshire.co.uk reports that Peregrine Pale Ale will now be on draught at the Old Silk Mill on Full Street, as homage to the falcons living next door.
Created by a secret brewer, landlady Janina Holmes hopes the 4.2 per cent brew which she says is "a beautiful beer" - will prove popular with the clientele.
She commented: "Hopefully, with the birds being such an attraction for visitors, a few bird-watchers might drop in for a pint of Peregrine.
"The falcons are a light colour so to me there was only ever going to be a pale ale produced in their honour."
Last month, Gary King, director at hospitality recruiter Collins King Associates, told Recruiter that a two pence rise in alcohol duty would not dissuade customers from visiting their local pub words of reassurance to both pub managers and those working in hospitality jobs.
