Hospitality recruitment in Norwich is set to receive a boost from the news that tourism bosses have said the city's hotel trade is booming.
Figures revealed that accommodation bookings across East Anglia were up almost three-fold over the summer compared to last year and visitors at Norfolk's attractions increased 35 per cent, reports the Norwich Evening News.
The industry has also been buoyed by the announcement that Whitbread plans to extend its 22-bedroom Premier Inn at the Royal Norfolk Showground, raising hopes for hotel jobs in East Anglia further.
Michael Nutt, managing director of VisitNorwich, told the newspaper: "The trend of holidaying at home has resulted in a great 2009 season and there is renewed optimism for 2010.
"Norwich's burgeoning hotel sector is making the city more attractive to tourists and the lucrative business tourism market."
Recent figures released by Deloitte revealed that hotel occupancy rates across the UK fell four per cent in the first three quarters of the year.
