Hospitality jobs in Nelson, Lancashire, will be saved as the town's oldest pub is set to reopen on Wednesday (December 23rd), reports the Nelson Leader.
The Shooters Arms which will celebrate its 350th anniversary next year closed two months ago.
But Mandy Lawson, who has worked behind the bar for 16 years, will take over at the pub on Southfield Lane alongside her husband Jeff and the pair will be hoping to keep it running long past its monumental birthday.
The pub has been known as the Shooters Arms since 1848 and was previously run by Tommy Cummings, a defender in Burnley's 1960 league-winning team.
Jack Kerten, who ran the pub for many years and still lives in the Southfield area, told the news provider: "There is a lot of work to do after the pub has been closed for so long but everybody is pulling together to make sure things are ready for the opening."
The Scarisbrick Arms in Lancashire recently reopened its doors after being shut for two-and-a-half years, according to the Ormskirk and Skelmersdale Advertiser.
