A new pub that is opening its doors in the Shotten area will create 40 new hospitality jobs in the region, it has been reported.

Lois Hough, writing for the Leader, has reported that the launch of a new JD Wetherspoon in the town is to take place on August 20th.

The site, which is based near the Shotten railway station, has been designed by Harrison Ince and will replace the Central Hotel.

Eddie Gershon, spokesman for the chain, told the news provider that the launch of the pub will bring additional customers to the town.

"It's been a long time coming but we are very pleased that the project is finally coming to fruition. It is a great investment for the area and will bring dozens of jobs for local people," he explained.

Earlier this month, the Birmingham Post reported that JD Wetherspoon has announced that it will be creating an additional 100 hospitality jobs in the West Midlands area.
