A major refurbishment is planned for a church in Arbroath that could result in a number of new pub jobs being created.
Plans have been proposed that would see the Erskine Church's Guild Room transformed into a two-story wine bar, the Courier has reported.
In addition, the scheme – which has been put forward by the Voigt Partnership of architects – would see new office space being created in the building.
A company spokesperson said: "We propose to regenerate the building and provide new access arrangements, additional office facilities and a wine bar and restaurant."
The representative added that the original stained-glass windows would be repaired and used as internal back-lit wall plaques, and would help the site be preserved for the future.
In other news, WalesOnline has reported that Cardiff is due to be the home for a new eco-friendly hotel, which will transform a period property on Cathedral Road and meet the Carbon Trust's standards.
