A new inn has opened in the centre of Stafford, creating 20 new pub jobs in the town.

The Sun Inn is one of four pubs to be opened by Titanic Breweries since 2007, despite the pressures of the recession, the Staffordshire Newsletter reports.

Former landlords Ashley Howard, 79, and Brian Deakin, 76, were some of the first patrons to have a drink at the new pub.

"Titanic has done a wonderful job. The alterations have been carried out in a very tasteful way," Mr Deakin, who was a licensee from 1975 until 1994, told the newspaper.

As well as serving drinks, the pub also boasts a traditional menu with locally-sourced ingredients.

Food is served until 20:00 BST Monday to Saturday and 15:00 on Sundays.

Last week, it was reported that a new Premier Inn and Table Table restaurant are to be built in Rugeley, Staffordshire, which will no doubt bring many hospitality jobs to the area.
