Some 26 pub jobs have been saved in Sheffield after the Norfolk Arms was taken over.

The pub was previously owned by the Out of Town Leisure Group, which went into administration recently, the Star reports.

This collapse threatened the establishment with closure, but it has now been taken over by Ringinglow Ventures Ltd - a new company set up specifically to save the pub by the building's owner, David Cuthbertson.

Pub manager Amanda Sunter suggested that staff had been worried about their jobs, but that it was now "business as usual".

"There have been no changes here as a result of what's happened. Everyone has kept their jobs and we're all really relieved. Business is going from strength to strength," she told the newspaper.

Earlier this year, the Campaign for Real Ale named another pub in Sheffield - the Kelham Island Tavern - its National Pub of the Year for 2009.
