Swindon set for 50 bar jobs

As many as 50 bar jobs are to be created in Swindon when a new venue is opened in the Wichelstowe area.

The community is still under construction, with many houses in a state of development, and it is hoped the pub will help to enhance the area and give locals another recreational venue, the Swindon Advertiser reported.

It is set to be operated by Marston's and will take the form of a restaurant-bar with space for 180 customers, revealed councillor Fionuala Foley.

"My understanding is it's due to be a family pub, and I welcome a family-themed pub in Wichelstowe. It'd be great for local residents, but with the emphasis on family," she told the newspaper.

It comes after the announcement that the Farmhouse in Southwick, Wiltshire, has been taken over by Janet Harris and Adam Glass, who formerly occupied the pub manager job posts at The George in Lacock, which could lead to the creation of new pub jobs in the region.
