Guide names Yorkshire beer capital of Britain

A new expert guide has named Yorkshire the beer capital of Britain, as its bar staff serve more ales than any other region.
The Good Beer Guide 2012, published today (September 15th) by the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra), identifies over 600 beers served across Yorkshire, from 98 local breweries.
It also notes the massive number of pub jobs created by the region's thriving beer industry, across more than 140 North Yorkshire venues listed in the guide and around 40 in East Yorkshire.
Camra's Yorkshire director Mick Moss said the sheer number of "fantastic" pubs in the county made selecting the best bar staff employers difficult.
"It is becoming harder every year for Camra branches to select their choice of local pubs to feature in the Guide. Only pubs serving a consistently high standard of real ale are considered for inclusion," he added.
Last month, the development of a new Premier Inn hotel in Leeds, West Yorkshire, was announced, which could bring bar staff opportunities in a different kind of working environment.
