Pub management positions could be on the cards in Essex after the Cozy Pub Company announced its intention to open ten pubs in the next five years as part of an aggressive expansion campaign throughout the county.
This comes after the firm successfully re-opened two former Punch Tavern pubs - the Eight Bells in Saffron Walden and the Cricketers Arms, close to Stansted Airport, reports Big Hospitality.
Under the control of Leanne Langman and her partner Paul Cutsforth, the firm has links with the Peach Pub Company and has taken advantage of advice from other people working in the industry.
The pair examined 30 pubs before stumbling across the Eight Bells and spending £70,000 on refurbishing the site, which saw a 50 per cent year-on-year trading increase in December 2011.
A number of exciting initiatives such as menu tastings and quizzes have contributed to this boost in trade, according to the company.
The Northampton Chronicle recently reviewed the Eight Bells, with writer Ruth Supple praising its "good food and great wines".
