Full opening for Liverpool One in September

The Liverpool One shopping and leisure development is set to open fully in September, it has been revealed.

Phase one of the development is scheduled to open on May 29th, with shops, restaurants and cafes set to be unveiled, with phase two ready to welcome visitors on September 30th.

Joanne Jennings, the chief executive of the project, told the Liverpool Echo: "We're thrilled to be opening during Capital of Culture year when all eyes are on Liverpool.

"The development will play a massive part in the city's future prosperity by bringing jobs, visitors and prestige," she commented, saying it will "reinvent the city centre".

An estimated 5,000 local jobs are poised to be created, with opportunities for people interested in working in hotels and restaurant work, including chef roles, being offered as businesses seek to recruit staff.

Two hotels and more than 20 bars, cafes and restaurants are to be established on site.

Among the major restaurant brands which have already announced they will be opening branches at Liverpool One are Wagamama, Las Iguanas, Cafe Rouge and Gourmet Burger Kitchen.
