Five new restaurants are opening per day in the UK as Briton's continue to embrace food from different cultures, new research suggests.
Startupplus says that Indian and Chinese restaurants account for 25 per cent of all restaurant openings, showing that those with skills in cooking ethnic cuisine are in demand.
Other international cuisines include Italian and Thai, with restaurants serving foreign food opening up across the country including the south west.
However, the study showed that traditional English staples such as fish and chips were still being offered by many new restaurants and gastro pubs.
A 2007 report by the European Ethnic Foods Market on the popularity of international cuisine cited Britain as the most adventurous of Europe's eaters with 80 per cent of the total non-European cuisine being enjoyed by Britons.
