Employees working at a hotel in Wiltshire have said they are "delighted" to have received a prestigious award for hospitality.

Country house hotel Lucknam Park in Colerne has been accredited with Hospitality Assured status for its service and business excellence in hospitality.

Speaking to the Wiltshire Times, managing director of the south west England hotel Harry Murray said: "We are delighted.

"We were all aware that the process for achieving Hospitality Assured is rigorous, but we were encouraged by the benefits the accreditation would bring in terms of continuous improvements."

The hotel joins the likes of the London Ritz and luxury Royal Garden Hotel in achieving its status which is internationally recognised.

The accolade was awarded by the Institute of Hospitality who dispatched a group of independent assessors to Lucknam Park to consider it for the accreditation.

The institute's chief executive Philippe Rossiter congratulated those with hospitality jobs within the hotel for their "fine achievement", adding that its score was "well in excess of the minimum required to gain the Standard".
