Plymouth to get new eateries

New restaurant work opportunities are to be created at two new eateries in Sutton Harbour, it has been revealed.

Businessman Edmond Davari runs two restaurants in Exeter and has three eateries in Plymouth - the recently launched Fat Mama's American diner, Italian brasserie Zucca and Moroccan restaurant Souk.

Now the Plymouth Herald reports that he is to open two further venues in the town at the Eau 2 building and plans to invest £1.1 million in the project.

Rocco Lola is expected to open by the end of June and will serve tapas to up to 70 patrons at any one time while Asia Chic - an eatery serving Japanese, Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese cuisine - will seat 80 diners and open sometime next month.

Mr Davari commented: "They are family restaurants."

It is estimated that around 30 local jobs will be created at the new venues.

Earlier this month, the Independent reported that Plymouth is one of the towns set to get an outpost of US restaurant chain Hooters by 2012.
