A range of exciting new restaurant work looks to be on the horizon for London dwellers with the launch of a million-pound project.
Caterer & Hotelkeeper reports that the Modern Pantry will open in July following three years of development.
According to the magazine, former Providores chef Anna Hansen is the brains behind the operation, which is backed by restaurant group D&D London.
"I'm calling it the Modern Pantry because it's all about the crazy ingredients you can find these days," Ms Hansen explained to the publication.
"The original idea was to do a book, with recipes showing what to do with some of this stuff - then it became a restaurant," she added.
Ms Hansen has been successfully working as a chef since sharpening her skills in Marylebone's fusion cooking-inspired Providores from 2001 until 2005.
Situated on St John's Square, Clerkenwell, former tavern the Modern Pantry was constructed within a Grade II-listed Georgian building.
