Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was one of hundreds of guests who attended a royal reception for hospitality workers this week.

Hosted by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday (May 6th), the event was arranged to recognise individuals' contributions to the industry.

According to The Publican, the Windsors spent over two hours chatting with guests who work in hospitality jobs.

"It was nice to see the pub trade represented at an event like this, especially when it is going through a pretty tough time," remarked Caroline Nodder, the publication's editor.

She added: "It was also nice to see a good number of individual publicans on the guest list as well as company representatives."

Among those invited to the reception were Andrew Coath, pub manager of The Swan in Milton Keynes, and Rob Hayward from the British Beer & Pub Association.

Since he began working as a chef in the eighties, Gordon Ramsey has been awarded an impressive 12 Michelin stars.
