Work is progressing on a new marina in South Derbyshire which when completed is expected to create around 40 full-time and 80 part-time jobs, including restaurant work and pub jobs.
Amongst the many features planned for the development which will be the largest of its kind in the UK there will be a "gastro-pub" as well as 18 holiday log cabins, according to the Burton Mail.
Martyn Ford, a council representative, told the newspaper: "I think this will open a world of leisure opportunities in Willington
People are excited that something so big will be on their back doorstep."
Attracting interest from locals and visitors from as far away as Cheshire and Hertfordshire hoping to moor a boat in its 585-berth facilities, the site promises to boost local economy and employment, bringing shops, offices, a picnic area and more.
South Derbyshire district council claims that tourism has become a major industry in the area over the last decade, with latest figures showing around 2,000 people employed in the sector.
