Employees at The Great House in Lavenham, near Sudbury, have been enjoying immense recognition after being accoladed the East of England Restaurant of the Year by Which? Good Food Guide, according to a source.
Essex and Sussex Online has reported that French-born restaurateur Regis Crepy, who now runs three of his own restaurants with his wife Martine, is delighted with the award, which specifically recognises independently-owned businesses for excellence and good service.
Mr Crepy told the publication: "I relate this honour to the whole restaurant and it is an award for the whole team as everyone works hard".
He had the restaurant refurbished earlier in the year and hopes that the award will further boost visitors to the town and his establishment.
Food at The Great House has built a reputation, the newspaper reveals, especially for its French-style cuisine and cheeseboards, reflecting the fact that the proud owner was trained by the best Swiss chefs.
Which? is one of the UK's leading independent advisory companies, which provides expert tips on anything from food to finance.
