A branch of the Fresha sandwich company will be expanding to make room for a 100-seater cafe, designed to cater for growing demand from the 12,000 industrial workers in the area.
Five catering positions will be created by the expansion, which is estimated to cost £200,000, according to the Express and Echo.
In concepts realised by Fresha manager Paul Banks, the new facilities will allow workers to have a new place to eat and have coffee, as well as a conveniently-placed shop to pick up basics such as milk and bread.
Mr Banks told the publication he believes the new development will be "a roaring success" and goes on to outline the top features of the new cafe, including corporate appeal.
He said: "I think there will be huge demand. Our hot drinks will all be 100 per cent Fairtrade where possible
we also want to invite networking and business groups to come in and have meetings."
Fresha's website states the company's philosophy "to create everyday food items that taste just great", using the freshest ingredients.
