Ramsbottom restaurant works differently

The West Lancashire town of Ramsbottom has been tipped as a potential award-winning eating destination by the Guardian.
Writing for the Word of Mouth blog, the newspaper's Tony Naylor said the charm of the Pennine settlement, with its rugged landscape, farmers' market, chocolate festival and steam railway, are enough of a draw in themselves.
However, Ramsbottom's eateries make the town a must-visit destination, he added, with a number of cafes and restaurants providing not only local jobs but also delightful dining options.
Mr Naylor highlighted the recently-refurbished Ramsons as being particularly worthy of custom, due to the restaurant manager's somewhat idiosyncratic approach.
Offering his personal approval, he added: "Unfashionably, he does not believe the customer is always right. Guests are refused table salt or well-done meat, and vegetables are served only as an intermediate course."
The Lancashire Telegraph recently reported that 30 hospitality jobs had been created at a new Wetherspoons outlet in the nearby town of Burnley.
