Safe catering guide for Northern Island students

Students in Northern Ireland who are training for a career in restaurant work and other areas of catering are to get a new guide to food safety.
The Safe Catering guide is being developed by the Food Standards Agency Northern Ireland (FSANI) to ensure those on catering and hospitality courses are trained in the principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points.
It is the hope of the FSANI to integrate the guide into all catering students' education before they enter hospitality jobs.
Since the beginning of this year, FSANI staff have also been delivering a programme of workshop sessions at 14 college campuses across Northern Ireland, delivering level two and level three catering qualifications.
This year alone 180 students completed the training.
The FSANI was launched in 2000 to improve food safety and standards and protect the health of the population in Northern Ireland in relation to food.
