French restaurant set for Birmingham

New restaurant jobs could be created in Birmingham as the city is set to welcome a new French eatery.

Cote is set to open a branch in the Mailbox complex and will sit alongside Pizza Express, reports the Birmingham Post.

The French chain landed the Best Value Restaurant in the UK Award 2009 from the Good Food Guide and work on its latest outlet is set to start in February.

Cote's decision to snap up the 3,900 sq ft unit in the Mailbox means the development's last remaining restaurant space will be filled.

The Mailbox has also managed to attract two new retailers.

Recently, the Coffer Peach Business Tracker revealed that sales at some of the UK's largest restaurant chains grew for the sixth month in a row during September.

Like-for-like sales were up by 1.7 per cent when compared to September 2008, although they were down when compared to the preceding month.
