Planners to decide on Yeovil restaurant jobs

Restaurant jobs in Somerset could get a boost as local planners are set to decide on plans for a new restaurant in Yeovil today (January 4th), according to thisisthewestcountry.co.uk.

Izabela Lowicka, who submitted the planning application, hopes to convert retail premises in South Western Terrace, Yeovil, into a restaurant.

Members of Yeovil Town Council's planning and licensing committee will decide the fate of the property which was last used as a plumbing shop but is currently empty.

Planning officers will consult councillors tonight at Yeovil's Town House.

Mrs Lowicka submitted the planning application in early December and if approved it will bring more restaurant jobs to the popular town centre street which already includes a number of restaurants including Thai and Italian eateries.

UK restaurants have been hoping for a Christmas and new year boost after a year which saw profits hit by the recession, particularly in November and early December which saw wet weather bring about a downturn in business.
