Those working in hospitality jobs in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire are being encouraged to join a local food group, according to Eat Out Magazine.
The BBO (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire) Food Group promotes local food and drink from the areas and launched its new hospitality membership at business breakfasts in Reading and Oxfordshire during Farmhouse Breakfast Week last week.
A number of chefs, restaurant managers and individuals in catering jobs have already joined and the group is calling for more hospitality workers to get involved and benefit from promotion on the group's website and in its annual Food Guide publication, subsidised training courses and stands at local, national and international events.
Tamara Schiopu, director of BBO Food Group CIC, told the news provider: "Local produce is now a significant feature on many menus, so we decided to encourage more chefs and caterers to join us. We include bed and breakfasts, guest houses, hotels, cookery schools, private chefs and demonstrators as well as cafés, pubs and restaurants."
