Caterer.com's Jonathan Baillie is to be officially awarded a Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) Scotland scholarship.
The trust is a charity supporting continuous development within the workplace and people in hospitality jobs in Scotland can apply for the scholarships, which can be awarded locally, nationally or internationally.
Mr Baillie applied for a scholarship in December 2009 and, after a grilling by David Cochrane, chief executive of HIT, he will tomorrow pick up his scroll in front of 500 scholars and business leaders at the Emerging Talent Conference.
The scholarship will allow him to bring back knowledge of international innovations to the Scottish hospitality industry and gain expertise to progress to the next level of his career.
He has attended a photo shoot along with four other scholars and, over the next two weeks, will learn where his scholarship will take place.
Possible destinations include the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration in New York, Disney University in Florida and the Ecole Hoteliere Lausanne in Switzerland.
