The Leeds Loves Food festival is set to hit the city this summer with celebrity chefs likely to be in attendance.

It will be the second time the festival has been run and this year the event will include cookery demonstrations and food sampling sessions along with the star appearances.

Details of exactly who is to attend are being kept quiet by organisers, which include Marketing Leeds and Leeds City Council in partnership with the Leeds Restaurant Association.

Last year saw Yorkshire-born TV chef James Martin put on a cookery demo and details for this year's event – running from July 1st to July 4th – are expected to be released in May.

Deborah Green, chief executive of Marketing Leeds, said: "Leeds Loves Food was the ideal platform to showcase our fabulous restaurants and culinary expertise, helping to raise the profile of Leeds not only regionally but also nationally and internationally."

Leeds City College and Kirkgate Market recently teamed up to offer fans of good food in Leeds an early sample of the festival's delights with a romantic Sunday lunch available from the city's Kirkgate Market.
