People looking for catering jobs in Wales could receive a boost after a businessman unveiled plans to erect a huge structure, which he believes would rank alongside the Statute of Liberty in New York.

Simon Wingett, who is a Welsh art dealer, stated he intends to try and get plans for the Waking The Dragon tower approved by the local authorities.

Aled Roberts, leader of Wrexham Council, said that the development could be great news for the local economy and help to create catering and restaurant jobs in the area.

"It will not only celebrate our unique heritage and culture, it will also boost the local economy with the creation of local jobs and draw in a huge number of tourists who will spend their money locally," he added.

After a 15-year restoration project east London's Spitalfield Market has opened its doors to a new establishment, which has bolstered restaurant jobs in London.
