Stephanie Moon has battled other people in chef jobs to be crowned the British Culinary Federation's Chef of the Year.
The cook from Rudding Park Hotel, Harrogate, beat seven other people in chef jobs at the final at Leeds City College, where each competitor had to create a three-course meal.
Ms Moon created mi cuit of Kilnsey trout to start, followed by a lamb saddle stuffed with kale, wrapped in bacon flavoured with liquorice and completed by three miniature puddings: a rhubarb souffle, a rhubarb pannacotta and a rhubarb chocolate marquise.
Speaking after her win, the chef said: "It was an incredibly challenging few hours and the competition on the day was tough but both Jack, my commis chef, and I were simply delighted to have had the opportunity to take part."
Other people in chef jobs competing for the title included Matthew Warburton from Mint Restaurant in Lichfield, Paul Foster from Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottingham and Finesse Hotels' Dean Crews from Derby.
