A new family restaurant could sit alongside a big-name supermarket after plans were announced to transform a site in a Cambridgeshire town.

The BBC reported that Tesco has unveiled plans to build a new superstore at the Werrington Shopping Centre in north Peterborough and the family eatery was also part of the regeneration proposals, which could interest people looking for restaurant work.

"The sale is part of a £40 million scheme to revamp the shopping centre. The plans to regenerate the centre include a new family restaurant, more retail units and public open spaces," the news provider stated.

A new establishment is intending to give customers a pick-me-up and will buoy people looking for pub and cafe jobs in Cambridge in the process.

Luxury food company Patisserie Valerie, which has been operating since 1926, opened its first site outside of London and pledged to create more than 20 new jobs in the process.
