People visiting a Carlisle eatery will be able to try curries made with meats such as crocodile, buffalo, camel, kangaroo and ostrich, after its owner unveiled an exotic new menu, according to one publication.
The News and Star reported that the Nowab Restaurant will be offering the rare meats after its award-winning chef, Abdul Rouf, decided to try and make use of the exotic meats which a local market in Carlisle was offering.
Owner Abdul Harid said: "We've always used chicken, lamb and prawns in our curries and I thought 'why not do something different?', so we've created a new fusion cuisine featuring five different meats prepared in different ways, from a mild massala to a hot and spicy jhalfrezie."
The restaurateur added that he is confident local people will embrace the out-there meats on offer.
Recently, the Bolton News reported that three restaurants in the town have opted to give customers the opportunity to put their money where their mouth is and give a donation in order to combat climate change.
