A landmark pub in Wanstead is getting ready for a new start as a restaurant that will be attractive to families and bring the establishment back to life after sitting dormant for six months, according to one newspaper.

The Waltham Forest Guardian reported on the British Queen in New Wanstead, which will now be transformed into the Queen's British Steakhouse and Grill.

Local resident Rebecca Rydel-Green said that the new venture should be more popular with people in Waltham Forest because it will emit less noise and be more family friendly.

"When it was open a couple of years ago it was fairly noisy sometimes, especially at the weekend, so a restaurant should be better suited to the area. It's good that it's becoming a restaurant because it appeals to more people than a pub might," she told the publication.

More restaurants are being created at the £9 million Fountains Retail Park development in Kent, which will offer consumers a number of stores, as well as a selection of cafes and eateries, This Is Kent has reported.
