Temporary chef jobs to be created by pop-up Ivy?

Temporary chef jobs could soon be created in Scotland's capital as the Ivy is set to open a pop-up restaurant during the Edinburgh festival.

Some of the plush London eatery's staff, including waiters, chefs and restaurant managers, will travel to the city to run the temporary eating venue, the Scotsman reports.

Roy Brett, last year's Scottish Hotel Chef of the Year, confirmed that the Ivy's parent company, Caprice Holdings, was interested in bringing the restaurant to Scotland.

"It's not been decided on yet but Caprice Holdings are very keen to come to Scotland. I worked for them for some years so we have a very good relationship," he told the newspaper.

Mr Brett was born in Edinburgh and has been employed in the restaurant industry for over 23 years.

He has worked with many of the UK's top chefs including Rick Stein, Mark Hix and Terry Laybourne.

Brett currently runs the seafood restaurant Odine, which has a 14-seat horseshoe-shaped crustacean bar at its core.
