Catering professionals looking for sous chef jobs in Birmingham may be inspired by the efforts of Khalid Sami Khan, who has picked up a prestigious industry accolade.
Mr Khan, who works at Lasan restaurant in the city, has been named chef of the year at the British Curry Awards after cooking for a judging panel that included ITN executive producer Derek Dyson and Steve Myall from the Daily Mirror.
The news comes just a matter of weeks after Muraliraj Narashimaraj, one of Mr Khan's colleagues at the Birmingham eatery, won the UK South Asian Chef competition.
Director of the Lasan Group Jabbar Khan said: "Our chef director Aktar Islam has blazed a trail for Indian cuisine and I'm delighted with both Khalid and Muraliraj's successes."
These prizes were just the latest in a long line of accolades bestowed on the Lasan restaurant, which has previously been named local eatery of the year on Channel 4 show Gordon Ramsay's The F Word.
