Restaurant recruitment in Yorkshire has been given a boost by the opening of Rice Flame Bar and Grill at Meadowhall in Sheffield.

The sixth in the chain of Rice eateries, which launched in Manchester in 2005, has resulted in the creation of 30 restaurant jobs in the city, reports the Sheffield Star.

An open kitchen provides the centrepiece for each restaurant, giving diners the opportunity to see their food being prepared, meaning a meal at Rice has a theatrical element.

Manoj Verma, founder of the chain, said the company is "thrilled" to bring its concept to Sheffield and to expand its portfolio in the current economic climate.

"We have every confidence in the response of customers in Sheffield and are delighted to have created jobs in the city," he added.

As well as the newly-opened Sheffield branch, Rice has four restaurants in locations across Manchester and one in Newcastle's Metro Centre shopping precinct.
