Restaurant recruitment in Yorkshire could get a boost with the news that Bengal Brasserie is planning to launch a fourth instalment of its chain of eateries, this one in Wetherby.

The company, owned by Shayasta Miah and Dobir Malik, already runs establishments in Leeds and York.

According to the Wetherby News, roughly 20 jobs will be created through the opening of the new restaurant, which will cater for around 100 covers and is based in the former Fennel eatery on Victoria Court.

"We are extremely proud to contribute to the local economy and community with the opening of our latest restaurant," said Mr Malik.

He added that he hoped local people would consider the establishment a friendly and sociable place to eat and also that it would attract visitors from out of town to boost tourism in the area.

The restaurants cook a variety of Indian meals, focusing on recipes from the Bengali region, with the York restaurant occasionally offering cookery lessons to the public.
